POSITION TITLE: Assistant/Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION: Faculty (unclassified)

FUNCTION OF WORK: Teaches courses in health, human performance, physical education, exercise science, and/or health promotion, most often in the area of exercise science for students at Northwestern State University; functions as a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance; serves as director of the Human Performance Laboratory in the HHP Department.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Department Head for Health and Human Performance

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise graduate assistants and/or undergraduate student workers; over sees the Exercise Physiology/Human Performance Laboratory in department; may supervise a student worker in the Ex. Phys. Lab

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

100 % of time Description

Teacher-of-record for HED or HP graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department; HP 3560, 3561, HP 3550, HP 4170, HP 2270, HED 5470, HED 5370, prepares course materials, makes class presentations, evaluates student performance;

HED 5990; may supervise graduate internships

Maintains and operates the exercise physiology lab (human performance equipment, fitness and exercise measurement instruments, metabolic cart and associated paraphernalia, 2 computers, EKG machine and numerous plastic anatomical forms)

Maintains annual student performance measurements on departmental majors, with regard to CAEP accreditation for CEHD

Serves on departmental committees and university committees
